Abstract

Big Data Analytics (BDA) has become a focal point in both academic research and industry, particularly in sectors like healthcare, due to the explosive growth of data and technological advancements. By integrating data from diverse sources and applying advanced analytical techniques, BDA has the potential to revolutionize healthcare. This paper provides a thorough review of the literature on BDA in healthcare, analyzing 180 scientific studies published between 2013 and 2023. It explores how BDA can enhance diagnostic accuracy, enable personalized medicine, and improve patient outcomes. The review identifies successful applications of BDA across various healthcare domains, highlighting its capacity to drive efficiency and reduce costs. However, the study also acknowledges challenges such as data privacy concerns and the complexity of integrating different data sources. It discusses modeling tools, real-world implementations, and the advantages of BDA through case studies. Moreover, the paper identifies key research gaps and proposes avenues for future collaboration and innovation in leveraging BDA to advance healthcare decision-making and outcomes
